(Washington, DC) – As Congress spends the week at home working in their districts, Log Cabin Republicans encourage our members to speak up in favor of serious budget cuts and reduced government spending.
“Republicans in the House of Representatives, under Speaker Boehner’s leadership, have stepped up and taken a first step toward reducing the federal deficit. It is now time for the Senate and the President to step up to the plate and pass these spending cuts,” said R. Clarke Cooper, Log Cabin Republicans Executive Director. “Americans know that when their debt gets too high, their first action needs to be cutting back spending; now Congress needs to follow this example. We cannot get on the road to economic recovery if President Obama and his allies in Congress are not serious about freeing us from the shackles of big government and skyrocketing debt.”
