Today, Log Cabin Republicans joined forces with Americans for Tax Reform and 40 other signatories in a call for the creation of a Committee to Reduce Government Waste. The following is a statement from Log Cabin Republicans Executive Director, Gregory T. Angelo, regarding Log Cabin Republicans’ participation in this call to action:
At a time when gay households around the country are tightening their belts and finding a way to budget within their means, it only makes sense for the United States government to exercise the same responsibility. Our elected officials in Washington should lead by example, and the creation of the Committee to Reduce Government Waste would show American taxpayers that Congress respects their hard work and feels duty-bound to spend their hard-earned money in the most efficient way possible.Log Cabin Republicans is proud to stand with Americans for Tax Reform and this broad coalition of conservative organizations calling for a government waste watchdog and a check to federal spending without end. |
