(Washington, DC) – Log Cabin Republicans support House Republicans plan to create an environment for private sector job growth by cutting spending and removing red tape and barriers to job creation.
“Republicans have put forward a plan to kick-start the private sector engines of our economy by fostering innovation and investment. By contrast, Senate Democrats remain A.W.O.L. on the economy, having failed to pass a budget for a mind-boggling 757 days,” said R. Clarke Cooper, Log Cabin Republicans Executive Director. “Log Cabin Republicans strongly support this vision for America’s future. Last night’s 97-0 rebuke of the Obama administration’s proposed budget showed that the President is unable or unwilling to put forward any serious plan of his own. The liberal strategy of raising the debt ceiling without reform, continuing their tactic of raising taxes and raising spending levels is not a solution – it is outright denial of the fiscal crisis that is waiting if Congress doesn’t change course. If we’re serious about balancing the budget and getting our economy back to creating jobs, tax hikes should be off the table.”
