|(Washington, DC) – Log Cabin Republicans are proud to announce our second slate of 2012 endorsements for House and Senate candidates, featuring challengers who value individual liberty, personal responsibility, and believe in an inclusive Republican party.
“Our membership is excited to support candidates like Linda McMahon of Connecticut, who recently made headlines for her support of DOMA repeal and the freedom to marry,” said R. Clarke Cooper, Log Cabin Republicans executive director. “These six candidates, added to the seven challengers from our original slate, are part of Log Cabin Republicans strategy to send reinforcements to our pro-equality champions in the House and Senate. Allies like Congresswoman Judy Biggert (R-IL) have done tremendous work, and by growing the pro-freedom GOP presence, we will make even greater gains for our community.”
“I’m thrilled to have the endorsement of the Log Cabin Republicans, an outstanding organization that shares my commitment to an inclusive, big tent GOP,” said Congresswoman Judy Biggert. “Together, we can work towards a smaller, smarter federal government that respects the rights and privacy of all Americans.”
These fellow conservatives appreciate that all Americans seek to enjoy the same freedoms and inalienable rights, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. Log Cabin Republicans chapters and members throughout the United States will commit their resources to get these candidates elected to Congress this November. Come 2013, we look forward to working with them and the Republican majority leadership in Congress.
Log Cabin Republicans is the only Republican organization dedicated to representing the interests of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Americans and their allies. The more than 30-year old organization has state and local chapters nationwide, a full-time office in Washington, DC, a federal political action committee and state political action committees.
