| Washington, DC – Log Cabin Republicans President Charles Moran announced on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 he will be stepping down from his leadership of the organization after five years at the helm that saw significant victories and both internal and external growth. Moran was named Managing Director of the Log Cabin Republicans in 2019 and President in 2021. During Moran’s tenure, the organization played a critical role in the 2022 midterms, securing the 2024 re-election of Donald Trump, and paving the way for the Republican Party’s historic embrace of LGBT conservatives and their allies. “The past few years have been an absolutely pivotal moment for the Log Cabin Republicans as we were welcomed into the Republican Party like never before and vastly expanded our messaging, our membership, and our field operations for campaigns up and down the ballot. At the same time, we met and overcame both old and new challenges,” Moran said in a statement. “The organization has never been in a more influential position to work with our allies in Washington, fight for President Trump’s agenda, and continue to elect strong conservatives in 2026 and beyond. “I am incredibly proud of the work our chapters, the Boards, our professional team and committed volunteers have done to get us to this point and will continue to lead this organization as I have until the next president is sworn in,” Moran said. “While it’s time for me to move on to the next chapter, I will continue to be an ally and advocate for the Log Cabin Republicans and LGBT conservatives.” “We would all like to thank Charles Moran for a job well done,” Richard Tisei, Chairman of the Log Cabin Republicans, said. “Under his leadership our organization has reached new heights and formed important new partnerships to ensure that LGBT conservative voices are heard throughout the Republican Party as well as our state and national government.
