LCR Response to Chairman Priebus, Schostak Call for Agema Resignation

Jan 24, 2014

Today, in a joint letter, RNC Chairman Reince Priebus and Michigan GOP Chairman Bobby Schostak called on Michigan RNC Committeeman Dave Agema to resign following numerous anti-gay controversies.

Log Cabin Republicans Executive Director Gregory T. Angelo issued the following statement:

The writing is on the wall — it has been since Log Cabin Republicans called for Mr. Agema to step down in December. Agema’s already lost all credibility, but he can still maintain some shred of decency by doing the right thing and heeding the galvanized calls of GOP leadership to resign so we can forge ahead and focus on winning.

Chairman Priebus’ statement comes the day following an event presented by Log Cabin Republicans National and Log Cabin Republicans of Washington DC for RNC members and guests at the Marriott Renaissance, the host hotel of this week’s RNC Winter Meeting.
