Log Cabin Republicans President Charles Moran released the following statement:
“LGBT conservatives were shocked and saddened to learn about the tragic shooting in Nashville. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families. In the coming days we will learn more about this disgusting crime and we urge everyone on all sides to put aside baseless speculation and rhetoric. There is only one person responsible for this shooting, and that’s the shooter. Yet these events are a chilling reminder of the increasingly incendiary ideology on gender issues coming from some corners of the LGBT Left, fueled by a sympathetic media that too often slanders people of faith as bigots and frames trans people as victims. The path forward must be filled with dialogue and compassion, not militancy and indoctrination.”
