(Washington, DC) – Log Cabin Republicans are proud to join with over ten thousand other conservatives in taking part in the 2011 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC).

“This year’s CPAC is a reminder of what is great about our party, particularly the great team we have on our side to take back the White House. It is also a reminder that we are stronger together,” said R. Clarke Cooper. “It was former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld who reminded us that the Republican Partyneeds to be the big tent party. I am particularly glad to see the new chairman of the American Conservative Union, which coordinates CPAC, Al Cardenas.  I had the pleasure of working with Chairman Cardenas while I served Governor Jeb Bush and he was Chairman of the Florida Republican Party.  He is committed to uniting our broad coalition around our central mission: winning at every level and advancing the core principles that unite us as conservatives. With polls of CPAC attendees overwhelmingly showing that the movement’s top priorities are addressing government spending, job creation and the economy, Log Cabin Republicans will continue to push the GOP to stay focused on the fiscal issues which matter most to Americans today.  2011 is a great time to be a conservative, and 2012 will be even better.  Onward and upward!”

Among the many activities at CPAC, Log Cabin Republicans highlight the panel presented by the Conservative Inclusion Coalition, of which Log Cabin is a part; Chairman Cardenas’s panel entitled “Changing the Conversation: Winning with Minorities, Women and Independents”; and Americans for Tax Reform President Grover Norquist’s “It’s the Spending, Stupid! The Tea Party and the Political Landscape.”
