LCR Statement on Passing of Queen Elizabeth II

LCR Statement on Passing of Queen Elizabeth II

Sep 8, 2022

Log Cabin Republicans President Charles Moran released the following statement on the passing of Queen Elizabeth II:

“Log Cabin Republicans mourns the passing of Queen Elizabeth II and is keeping King Charles III and the royal family in our thoughts and prayers. Queen Elizabeth’s leadership over the past seven decades was both influential and iconic, and her reign and record will be regarded as a foundational pillar in the history of U.S-Anglo relations. We also admirably remember the efforts of the Queen and her prime ministers during the Trump Administration to join the Trump-led fight to decriminalize homosexuality around the world, including a pledge to financially support legislative reform in the dozens of Commonwealth countries that still outlaw being gay. Queen Elizabeth was a proponent throughout her reign for advancing equal rights and moving the Commonwealth forward, and for that she will always hold a special place in our hearts.”
