Log Cabin Republicans President Charles Moran released the following statement:
“Jim Kolbe was a veteran, a dedicated public servant of Arizona and an American statesman. He was also a pioneer for the LGBT community, a strong ally of Log Cabin Republicans and a pioneer for all LGBT conservatives. Jim was a fierce champion for inclusion within the Republican Party during a time when it required relentless courage and perseverance to do so. We will forever be thankful for his service and will continue to honor his memory. We are saddened by his passing and our thoughts and prayers are with Jim Kolbe’s family during this time.”
